Showers this morning?  Not totally unexpected, but I didn't think we'd have a line moving through this early:
We do need the rain, and it looks as if this week will fill more of that need with a frontal boundary stalling in the vicinity.  Weak ripples of low pressure will form and move along the front this week creating showers and thunderstorms almost every day.  Monday and Wednesday may even be storm chase days (follow StormsRUs for that).

Meanwhile, from yesterday afternoon's Hydrometeorological Prediction Center's forecast discussion:

"WELL EASTWARD A INCREASING FAVORABLE MJO/VELOCITY POTENTIAL
ANOMALIES AND ACTUAL MODEL RUNS OF GFS/CMC/ECMWF ARE SHOWING
DEVELOPMENT OF CAPE VERDE/EAST ATLANTIC TROPICAL SYSTEMS MID TO
LATE FORECAST PERIOD AND BEYOND. GOOD GFS ENS AGREEMENT.
CLIMATOLOGICALLY RIGHT ON TIME."
Translation: The long range forecast models are showing that the hurricane season is starting
 to take off.
