Dry and cooler

How does a low temperature in the 50's grab you?  That's the official NWS Sterling forecast for Fredericksburg both Wednesday and Thursday mornings this week, with Friday morning's low all the way up to 60 degrees as a longwave trough settles overhead and allows delightfully cool Canadian air to filter into our region.  We deserve this for the beginning of July given that we've suffered through one of the hotter June's on record.  Unfortunately it also looks as if we won't be seeing any precipitation any time soon either, with the long term GFS model forecast showing us continuing high and dry for the next 7-9 days.  The Climate Prediction Center backs this prognostication with its 6-10 day forecast:

Thus if you planted Gerber daisies as we did yours probably look like ours - dead - unless you're watering them.  I had hopes for rain from the storms of the past week but we were left stranded when they all divided around us.
