The heck with the fifties…send in the sixties!!

The models have obviously trended warmer the last few runs as the NWS Sterling forecast office has upped our high temperature forecasts to reach the low 60's most of this week, including today. That's quite all right with me since it is meteorological spring already as of March 1st, meaning that the large scale winter weather patterns should be turning to a spring configuration. That doesn't mean we're out of the woods yet for cold air and even frozen precipitation...but we're getting closer to being able to draw that line for good this year.
Meanwhile - as I've posted over at StormsRUs - Virginia's statewide tornado drill will be conducted at 9:45 a.m. (not 9:30 as I previously posted) on March 16th. Given the severe weather events here in the Commonwealth over the past few years you should seriously consider signing up as an official participant at the link provided by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.
