SurveyUSA (the most accurate of the swing state pollsters in 2008) has President Obama at 57% approval in Virginia as of April 30. His numbers here have steadily climbed, 54% in February and 55% in March. The President is also more popular here than Gov, Kaine (50%) and Sen. Webb (48%). Not surprisingly, Sen. Warner trumps them all at 64%-27%.

What’s really impressive about these new numbers for President Obama, is that his popularity in the Old Dominion is near-universal. Every age group, region, race, you name it….with just two exceptions: conservatives (23%) and Republicans (31%). Must be lonely….
